Interact Club Visits Sitio Flume

I EXPECTED that it would be different when you attend an out-of-town trip as the club adviser.  I expected that FUN would be the last adjective you’d think of to describe the experience. Of course, you wouldn’t only be thinking about ensuring that the objectives…

Study for the Knowledge, Not the Grades

WE ARE conducting review classes for our second year students in preparation for the upcoming National Achievement Test. This afternoon, I asked them to answer a multiple choice test. One of the students asked me, “Sir, will this be recorded?” I replied, “Why? Are you not going to take this seriously if I tell you that you won’t get points for this?”

Some Points to Consider in Choosing a Career

ABOUT TWO months from now, we will be sending off our 12th batch of graduates. They will soon be one of those young individuals who will start treading the path towards the portion of their lives on which they will spend a great chunk of their time — their career. In this post, I would like to discuss some points to consider in choosing a career. If you are still in the process of choosing a career, this is for you.

When you are cramming, however, you tend to forget eating as it might take a portion of your time. Hey, even if you spend the whole day studying your lessons, your brain wouldn’t be able to store the information if you don’t eat the right food. So, try marauding your kitchen if you have any of these food stuff that will held boost your mental activity.

How to Study Your Lessons without the Burnout

You would know that it’s examination time when you see students photocopying notes or cramming to absorb one-quarter-of-a-school-year’s worth of lessons in ten subjects within just one night. Admit it, you must be one of them, too. Don’t worry, I also did that when I was a student, but I have realized early on that cramming just doesn’t work.

Issues and Opportunities for Learning in Social Networking Sites

TODAY’S GENERATION may be aptly called the generation of social networking. Get inside any classroom and ask who among the students have an account on Facebook, Twitter, Plurk, Tumblr, Formspring, or Friendster, and behold a sea of hands raised in response. If you would even pry into how much time they spend on these social networking sites, you would wonder if they still have time for their studies. Until thorough research is made, we can only speculate on the extent of influence social networking sites have on our kids.
