ANSHS participates in the International Year of Chemistry

THE BEST students from Region XII will gather at Alabel National Science High School on January 22, 2011 as it holds the Kapnayan 2011-Regional Chemistry Show as part of the celebration of the International Year of Chemistry 2011.

Thirty-four schools from all over Region XII have registered to the competition, which will be done in two phases.

The First Phase is a written examination, where individual participants will take a 60-item multiple choice test in General Chemistry.

The scores of the four individual participants from each school will be summed up to determined the top 20 schools that will move on to the Final Phase, which is the quiz show proper.

The prizes at stake are the following:

  • Champion: Php 4,000.00 + medals + certificate + trophy
  • First Runner-Up: Php 2,000.00 + medals + certificate + trophy
  • Second Runner-Up: Php 1,500.00 + medals + certificate + trophy

The Kapnayan 2011 is organized by the Science Club Enthusiasts spearheaded by its moderator, Dexter C. Necor.

Ariel Lalisan is a physics teacher at Alabel National Science High School. He is an advocate of constructivism approach in education. He employs active learning and independent learning in his lessons, and, of course, a lot of technology integration. His goal is to produce students who can solve problems on their own using the concepts they learn in the classroom. Ariel Lalisan is a Google Certified Innovator (Google Teachers Academy Southeast Asia 2014) and a community leader at Google Educator Group Sarangani. He is a co-founder of SoCCSKSarGen and he won the Globe Media Excellence Blogger of the Year Award in 2015.
